Enjoy family rafting in Voss

Family rafting is perfectly suited to families and groups with children under the age of 15, or for those who consider that rafting in the Strandaelva or Raundalselva rivers is too challenging.

The rafting trip takes a total of three hours, of which 1.5 hours are spent on the river. Voss Active has two daily departures at 09:30 and 14:30 and you can request to be picked up at Voss bus terminal.

For normal water levels we offer two different types of rafts: Large and steady rafts that take up to eight people and small two-man rafts if you’d like to try something more challenging. For high water levels, we only use the large rafts. Regardless, we promise lots of water and fun for the whole family!

Welcome to a day of family fun on the river!

Rafting the river Vosso

Vosso has a long history and a large, well-known salmon river. It flows west from Voss to Evanger towards Bergen.

The rafting trip is 7 km long and alternates between calm sections, gentle waves and some larger but safe rapids. We will stop during the journey and if you like, you can jump into the river and swim with the salmon! This trip is suitable for anyone in good health. You have to feel comfortable with water, but swimming skills are not essential. We go ashore in Evanger and enjoy some refreshments.

Practical information

  • Daily departures at 09:30 and/or 14:30
  • Meeting place: Nedkvitnesvegen 25, 5710 Skulestadmo
  • Transportation from Voss centre can be pre-ordered. Pick-up point is Voss bus terminal 30 minutes prior to departure
  • The tour takes 3 hours in total. 1,5 hours on the river
  • Family rafting is suitable for everyone of normally good health from 5 years of age. Swimming skills are not mandatory, but you must be comfortable in water.

Equipment

  • Bring swimwear and towel. Wool underwear is recommended on cold days.
  • All necessary equipment is included (wetsuit, neoprene shoes, life jacket and helmet)
