The Arctic Train

The Arctic Train is operating with daily departures on the railway between Narvik and Abisko. The train is not only an easy transportation method to get to fantastic Arctic activities on both sides of the Swedish-Norwegian border, but also an interesting train journey on its own. You will travel through beautiful scenery and past several historical sites where parts of the battle of Narvik at the beginning of World War Two found place. The audio guide system on board will tell the stories from the war, and also about the impressive building of the Ofot railway was built around 1900.

Narvikfjellet ski resort

Narvikfjellet is a winter paradise for everyone, whether you are beginner or expert skier. Families and beginners can enjoy a separate children’s area and easy trails along with children’s games and competitions. The more experienced have a variety of more demanding slopes to choose between and an excellent terrain for off-piste skiing.

Take either the Narvik Gondola or three t-bars to get to the mountain station and restaurant on 656 masl, from where you can continue up to mt. Linken on 1006 masl by chair lift. Skiing back downhill you have spectacular views of the Ofotfjord right in front of you. Did you know that Narvikfjellet resort has one of Scandinavia’s longest vertical distances?

Narvikfjellet is also one of the best cross-country destinations in Norway, with floodlit trails starting in the ski resort.
