Paddling on Sunnylvsfjorden from Hellesylt

Enjoy kayaking through one of Norway’s most impressive landscapes starting from Hellesylt, which is a perfect kayak destination. After beginning our trip with a mandatory safety introduction, we move on to outfitting of the kayak and some paddle instructions. We are then ready to set out in the fjord and explore its stunning nature.

While we follow the shoreline from Hellesylt, we will have good chances to spot some local wildlife, such as otters, porpoises and eagles. The guide will tell you stories about the mountain farms in the area as well as about the mountain Åkerneset, which is on its way to fall down in the fjord.

Our kayaks are stable tandem kayaks that are easy to paddle and provide a perfect platform to explore the fjord. We provide all necessary kayak equipment for our guests.

Picture perfect landscapes

The 25-kilometre long Synnylvsfjord is an arm of Storfjorden, ending in Hellesylt. To the east from here extends the famous Geirangerfjord, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by tall mountains, the fjord is a perfect destination for those looking for adventures in a picturesque scenery. Along its shore, you can also see many small fjord and mountain farms, some of which have been abandoned.
