Hôtel | The Fretheim Hotel has been attracting guests from all over the world since the end of the 19th century. In few places are fjords and mountains more beautiful and dramatic than in Flåm.

Ever since the middle of the 19th century, Flåm has been a favorite place for tourists, when English Lords entered the Sognefjord with their boats in search of new areas for hunting and fishing. They were accommodated on the farm of Flåm's richest man, Christen Fretheim and soon the Fretheim Hotel saw the light of day.
With the past as a source of inspiration, Fretheim Hotel can offer close encounters with the best of the parish's culture through short-traveled tastes, spectacular views of the fjord and mountains and interiors and furnishings that take you back in time. Located at the terminus of the unique Flåmsbana, and with the UNESCO World Heritage Site Nærøyfjord nearby, the hotel is in the middle of Smørøy for fantastic experiences.
The hotel was built in Swiss style at the end of the 19th century. Over the years, the hotel has been expanded in line with the flow of tourists. The oldest part of the hotel has been restored with beautiful details, with fireplaces and antique furniture both in the living rooms, the library, the corporate rooms and the historic guest rooms. All of the hotel's 122 rooms have great views of the fjord or mountains.
With inspiration from both nature and the past, Fretheim Hotel offers short-distance tastes from the farms in and around Flåm, with some of the country's best producers of cheese, meat, fruit and vegetables. The food is served in both traditional and innovative ways by the hotel's skilled chefs.
