Animal welfare and respect for the animals' natural needs are at the heart of everything we do at Polar Park. Our animals live in large, natural enclosures where they have the space to roam freely and behave as they would in the wild.

Large, Natural Enclosures
Compared with many other wildlife parks, the enclosures at Polar Park are exceptionally spacious. This gives the animals plenty of room to roam, display their natural behaviour and retreat whenever they choose. Forests, rocky terrain and natural water sources have all been carefully incorporated to create the best possible environment for the animals.
The park's design also gives you the opportunity to observe the animals in peaceful, natural surroundings. It's more than just seeing wildlife, it's discovering them in an environment where they can truly thrive.

Animal welfare is the foundation of everything we do at Polar Park. Our animals are fed a diet that closely reflects what they would eat in the wild, and they receive professional veterinary care whenever needed.
To encourage natural behaviour, we also provide mental and physical enrichment that stimulates their instincts, including hunting, digging, climbing and searching for food.
Our Top Tips
Tips for Responsible Wildlife Viewing
- Stay on the paths and keep a safe distance from the fences
- This helps protect both you and the animals, allowing them to feel safe and behave naturally.
- Move quietly and speak softly
- Many of our animals are naturally shy and may move away if they feel disturbed.
- Be patient and keep looking
- If you don't spot an animal straight away, ask yourself: Where would I hide? Take your time, stop, look carefully and enjoy the experience.
- Visit early in the day
- Many of our animals are most active in the morning, especially the deer species.
