A Lofoten experience at Reine Rorbuer

At Reine Rorbuer there is a total of 39 cabins in different sizes and categories. Most of them have sea view and all are located just steps away from the crystal-clear water. The “rorbu” cabins were originally huts where fishermen lived during the fishing season. In addition to the cabins, Reine Rorbuer has 1 room and 2 apartments for rent.

All cabins have ensuite bathrooms and WiFi, and most of them have a fully equipped kitchen – perfect for those who wish to catch their own fish for dinner!

Gammelbua restaurant

The building that today houses Reine Rorbuer’s restaurant Gammelbua, once functioned as the general store in Reine and dates back to the end of the 18th century. You will feel like travelling back in time when entering the restaurant with its original wooden interior and cosy fireplace. If the weather allows, you are welcome to sit outside on the terraces that overlooks the breathaking landscape of Lofoten.

Gammelbua offers interesting and tasteful dishes based on local and seasonal ingredients, prepared with traditional and international methods.

Outstandingly beautiful Reine

If you google “Lofoten” there is a fair chance that an image of Reine is the first to appear. This small fishing village located far out on the western part of the archipelago is one of the finest examples of Norwegian culture and nature. It is surrounded by rugged peaks and the mighty waters of the Norwegian Sea.

Reine is a destination for those seeking tranquillity, as much as for those seeking adventures and an active holiday. The short days in winter give possibilities for spectacular views of Northern Lights, and the long summer days with midnight sun are perfect for hiking or kayaking on the crystal clear Reinefjord.
