This tour takes you through Raftsundet by RIB, where you can get close to the white-tailed eagle, the world’s largest eagle, in its natural surroundings. The boats stop at several locations where the sea eagles are often found and which are known for large gatherings of these magnificent birds. You will have excellent opportunities to observe the eagles up close and take photos of these majestic birds in their natural habitat.

A RIB boat is an exciting way to explore the wild coastal landscapes of Lofoten. With a fast and stable boat, you’ll get close to dramatic mountains, deep fjords and wildlife – even when the sea shows its rougher side. The open boat gives you a strong sense of being close to the landscape and makes it easy to capture great photo opportunities along the way.
As you travel through Raftsundet and into the spectacular Trollfjorden, you’ll experience a landscape that is truly impressive. The narrow fjord is surrounded by steep mountains and powerful natural scenery. Along the way, you’ll hear stories about the historic Battle of Trollfjord, the Viking Age, former fishing villages and life along the coast. White-tailed eagles also inhabit the area, and you may be lucky enough to see these majestic birds soaring above the fjord.

XXLofoten’s boat captains place a strong focus on safety and ensure a comfortable journey. A RIB tour with XXLofoten is well suited for families with children aged 8 and above. The tour lasts 2 hours, with daily departures throughout the year. Please arrive 30 minutes before departure.
The following equipment is included: flotation suit, life jacket and protective goggles with visor.
If you are pregnant or have back problems, we recommend choosing one of our other experiences.
What to bring:
- Dress warmly in several layers, including an insulating layer during winter.
- Bring your own mittens or gloves, suitable footwear and a buff or scarf, regardless of the weather, as you will be travelling in an open boat.
- We recommend waterproof shoes with thick soles. Shoes can also be rented for NOK 75.
