When in Norway
When in Norway offers two unique guided tours that bring you closer to the soul of the Norwegian capital. Whether you're drawn to forest views or cultural gems, we’ve got an adventure waiting for you.
Two Oslo Adventures
When in Norway is your invitation to experience Oslo like a local — through two carefully curated guided tours that highlight the city’s breathtaking contrasts: wild nature and urban charm.
Woods Tour – Hike to Oslo’s Best Viewpoint
Escape the city buzz and step into a postcard-perfect Norwegian forest. This tour starts with a scenic metro ride from the city center to the peaceful hills above Oslo. From there, you’ll hike through serene woodlands and along quiet lakes until you reach Fuglemyrhytta — a cozy DNT cabin perfect for a rest and a snack. The trail then continues to the majestic summit of Vettakollen, offering sweeping views of the city, fjord, and distant islands. This is Oslo at its most peaceful and awe-inspiring.

- Age limit: 5 years
- Group size: 2–60

- Please note: From July 4th to August 10th, this tour will be replaced by an equally beautiful hike in Lillomarka forest due to metro maintenance.
River Walk – Explore Oslo’s Urban Heartbeat
For a different kind of magic, join us for an urban stroll along the Akerselva River — Oslo’s historic lifeline. Starting in the north of the city, this tour takes you past forested paths, colorful houses, and impressive waterfalls formed by old factory dams. Your guide will share stories of Oslo’s industrial heritage and the role the river played in shaping the city. The walk ends in the lively Vulkan area, home to Mathallen, Oslo’s top indoor food market. Stay for an optional local food tasting and enjoy a taste of modern Norway.
