Planning a visit to Norway's northernmost wildlife park? Here are our top tips for an unforgettable day surrounded by Arctic wildlife.

1. Arrive Early and Discover the Animals

Arriving early gives you the best chance of seeing the animals, especially the deer species, which are often most active in the morning.

Our animals live in large, natural enclosures where they have plenty of space to roam. Take your time, stop often and look carefully. If you can't spot an animal straight away, ask yourself: Where would I hide?

Remember to keep a safe distance from the fences, move quietly and speak softly, as some animals are naturally shy.

2. Bring Your Camera

Capture unforgettable memories during your visit. If available, you can also book one of our exclusive Photography Experiences for even closer wildlife photography.

3. Join a Guided Experience

Learn more about our animals by joining one of our guided tours or exclusive wildlife experiences.

4. Dress for the Weather

Weather in Northern Norway can change quickly, so dress in warm layers and come prepared for all conditions. Whatever the weather, it all adds to the adventure.

5. Meet the Arctic Foxes

Did you know you can step inside the enclosure and meet our playful Arctic foxes by booking an Arctic Fox Visit? It's one of the most memorable experiences at Polar Park.

6. Visit Outside the Peak Season

Visit outside the busiest months to enjoy a quieter atmosphere and an even more peaceful wildlife experience.

7. Fun for the Whole Family

Children will love our large outdoor play area, interactive activities and, during the summer season, meeting the friendly farm animals.

8. Take a Break in the Restaurant

Enjoy a well-earned break in our restaurant, where you'll find burgers, pizza, hot dogs, coffee, hot chocolate and other refreshments. Afterwards, head back into the park for another walk.

9. Visit Visitor Centre Carnivore Bardu

Learn more about Norway's large predators and explore the exhibition at Visitor Centre Carnivore Bardu.

Please note: The new exhibition is currently under development (July 2026).
