Family-friendly trout fishing
Trout fishing by boat on Opheimsvatnet is available for booking daily throughout July and August. It is a hugely popular family activity in Myrkdalen, where we tailor the trip to suit the weather and the group's preferences. We offer various options, from trout fishing in a rowing boat to high-altitude fishing on Vikafjell. The guide will confirm the final location the day before.
The trip begins with a short drive to the selected lake (5-25 minutes). We'll find a scenic spot by the water to set up camp and fish for trout using rods. The day concludes with preparing a meal from the catch, cooked over an open fire or on a camping stove.
Fishing license
If you wish to fish on your own, please remember to buy a fishing license. Vikafjellet and Myrkdalen have separate fishing licenses. Myrkdalen fishing license can be purchased at Myrkdalen Hotel, and Vikafjellet fishing license is available for purchase at gamletrevaren.no
The Voss Card
The Voss Card provides access to fishing in nearly 500 ponds, lakes, and many river stretches. It can be purchased on Inatur's website.
