More and more people are discovering the joy of electric bikes – especially when going uphill! What used to be a struggle up the hills has become effortlessly fun.
The electric bike gives you the feeling of superpowers, and you can travel longer and faster than on a regular bike.
For a short and pleasant el-bike ride from Myrkdalen Hotel, simply cycle North on rv. 13 for about 1 km and then continue on the gravel road up to Vetlebotn Mountain Lodge. This beautiful mountain lodge is open during the summer chairlift season in July and August. Guests can enjoy a variety of snacks, ice cream, baked goods, and traditional dinner dishes.
Outside, there are arranged activities for children.
If you prefer a longer trip, you can cycle further up to the top of the Storhaugekspressen. Park your bikes here and continue on foot to the idyllic Mørkvesstølen. Return the same way.
Myrkdalen Sport & Rental offers a selection of electric mountain bikes of the type GT ePantera Dash and GT ePantera Bolt for rent. These bikes work well on paved roads, gravel roads, and simple trails.
The small electric motor attached to the bike makes it easy to get around and uphill.
E-biking is by no means a lazy person's sport, but with the help of the motor, the range of your trips will be extended. The assist motor gives you a boost when you cycle, but it doesn't do the entire job for you. You still have to pedal for the motor to work, and you can adjust the motor up and down according to the terrain. The lower the motor power you use – the longer the battery lasts.
What was once unattainable is now possible.
Experience Vikafjellet from the bicycle seat, an idyllic mountain area between Voss and Vik. You can start the trip from Myrkdalen Hotel and cycle on rv. 13 and up the hairpin turns in Holo. If you choose this tour, we recommend that you do not use maximum motor power the entire way and save battery where you can, so you won't run out of battery before you are back at the hotel.
