Sport
Narvik is home to one of Northern Norway’s strongest alpine skiing communities. Athletes and ski clubs benefit from excellent training conditions, a long winter season and an experienced event organising team.

Alpin Skiing: Training and Competitions
Narvik Slalåmklubb was founded in 1957 and was Norway’s second dedicated alpine skiing club. Since then, it has established itself as one of the country’s leading alpine ski clubs, both in terms of sporting achievements and event organisation.
The club organises alpine skiing competitions at Narvik Ski Resort and is one of Norway’s largest alpine ski clubs in terms of membership.
Ankenes Alpinklubb was established in 1973 and operates a family-friendly ski resort just five kilometres from Narvik town centre. Built on volunteering, the club fosters an inclusive community focused on the joy of skiing, personal achievement, community spirit and development for skiers of all ages.
Narvik Elite Alpine Skiing (NAT)
Narvik Alpint Toppidrett (NAT) is a national alpine skiing programme and part of the Norwegian Ski Federation’s athlete development system. The programme is offered as part of the sports studies curriculum at Narvik Upper Secondary School.
The programme is designed for competitive alpine skiers who want to combine upper secondary education with structured training and athletic development. Each year has ten places, with admissions to all three years of upper secondary school (Vg1, Vg2 and Vg3).

Training Camps
Narvik typically enjoys a long and snow-reliable winter season, with training opportunities from late November to early June. Varied terrain, impressive vertical drops and extensive training areas provide excellent conditions for both technical disciplines and speed training.
The resort can accommodate organised training groups with scheduled training sessions, access to designated training areas and lift passes at special rates for athletes. Capacity, available slopes and training arrangements are assessed based on the season, snow conditions and other activities at the resort.
