Experience the Arctic mountains with the Narvik Gondola
From January 2027, the new Narvik Gondola will take you from the town to the mountains in just eight minutes. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, deep fjords and the town of Narvik, with unforgettable experiences waiting in every season.
At the upper station, 656 metres above sea level, you can take in the spectacular scenery, set off on a mountain hike or enjoy locally inspired flavours paired with panoramic views at the newly renovated Skard Restaurant. Experience the magic of the Northern Lights during the Arctic winter or the Midnight Sun on long summer nights. When winter transforms the landscape, the gondola also provides the perfect starting point for skiing and other mountain adventures.
Whether you're seeking outdoor adventures, memorable dining experiences or simply a moment to enjoy the view, the Narvik Gondola brings the Arctic mountains closer than ever – making them easily accessible to visitors and locals alike.
New Gondola Opens in January 2027
The new Narvik Gondola is scheduled to open in January 2027 as part of the ongoing development of Narvik Ski Resort ahead of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in 2029.
Featuring a new base station, mid-station and upper station, the gondola will provide easier and more comfortable access to the mountains throughout the year. Whether you're visiting for the spectacular views, exceptional food or adventures in the Arctic wilderness, the journey into the mountains will become an experience in itself.
Until the opening, the previous gondola and the Mountain Restaurant will remain closed.

Welcome to the Mountain Restaurant
The Mountain Restaurant at the upper station is the heart of Narvikfjellet, with its unique location right on the edge of the steep mountainside and views you would normally only dream of. Here, you can enjoy a great meal, light snacks, or simply something to drink.
A starting point for Arctic experiences
In winter, the cable car is part of the ski resort. In addition to lift-served skiing, it can also be used as a starting point for ski touring or freeriding. If skiing isn’t for you, the upper station is also an excellent base for snowshoe walks, sledging, and Northern Lights experiences.
In summer, the cable car is the starting point for mountain hikes, trail biking, and unforgettable midnight sun experiences.
