Experience the Arctic mountains with the Narvik Gondola
From January 2027, you can ride the new 10-person gondola to the top of Narvikfjellet. In just 8 minutes, you'll reach stunning panoramic views of mountains, fjords, and the town, with amazing experiences in every season.
At the summit, you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery, hike in the mountains, visit the Mountain Cable Car Restaurant, or experience the Northern Lights in winter and the Midnight Sun in summer. When the snow arrives, the gondola is also the perfect starting point for skiing and other winter adventures.
The new gondola makes getting into the mountains easier than ever, making the area even more accessible for both visitors and locals.
New gondola opens in 2027
The new gondola will open in January 2027 as part of the continued development of Narvikfjellet ahead of the 2029 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. With a new base station, mid-station, and upper station, it will be even easier to reach the mountains—whether you're here for the views, great food, or to explore the Arctic wilderness.
Until the opening, the previous gondola and the Mountain Restaurant will remain closed.

Welcome to the Mountain Restaurant
The Mountain Restaurant at the upper station is the heart of Narvikfjellet, with its unique location right on the edge of the steep mountainside and views you would normally only dream of. Here, you can enjoy a great meal, light snacks, or simply something to drink.
A starting point for Arctic experiences
In winter, the cable car is part of the ski resort. In addition to lift-served skiing, it can also be used as a starting point for ski touring or freeriding. If skiing isn’t for you, the upper station is also an excellent base for snowshoe walks, sledging, and Northern Lights experiences.
In summer, the cable car is the starting point for mountain hikes, trail biking, and unforgettable midnight sun experiences.
