Environment: Energy, Climate and Transport

Nature is close to our hearts and forms an essential foundation for our business. Fjords, mountains and natural landscapes are an integral part of our destinations and the experiences we create for our guests.

We are building a reliable data foundation to help us understand and reduce our climate impact. In 2025, we compiled our first group-wide greenhouse gas inventory. This gives us greater insight into where our emissions come from and helps us prioritise actions where they can have the greatest effect.

We are also improving the quality of our data on energy, fuel and other sources of emissions. This gives us a stronger basis for making informed decisions and taking targeted action in the years ahead.

It is about making thoughtful choices every day. We pay attention to what we buy, which products we use and how we can make cleaning more efficient without compromising on quality.

Moving Towards More Electric Operations

We are working to use more electric vehicles and equipment in our daily operations. Several vehicles used within our business are already electric, including those delivering freshly baked goods from the bakery in Flåm.

In Myrkdalen, we are testing two electric snowmobiles in day-to-day operations. The experience will give us valuable insight into how electric solutions perform in challenging mountain terrain and marks an important step forward.

Using Biodiesel

Grooming ski slopes is one of the most energy-intensive activities at a ski resort. In Myrkdalen, we use biodiesel in our snow groomers as an alternative to conventional diesel.

Biodiesel can be used in our existing machines without technical modifications, helping us reduce our use of fossil fuels while maintaining day-to-day operations.
