People: Jobs, Diversity and Accessibility

Putting people at the heart of what we do comes naturally to us. We bring together people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, as guests, colleagues and members of the communities we are part of.

At Norway’s best, we strive for a culture where everyone is treated with respect and employees have equal opportunities to develop and contribute. This is reflected in how we support our employees, create opportunities for learning and development, and work to ensure that employees and guests alike feel welcome and able to participate, whatever their background, abilities or circumstances.

Different Strengths, a Shared Direction

We aim to be an inclusive workplace where employees with different backgrounds, experience and skills have opportunities to contribute and develop, whether they are employed on a permanent or temporary basis.

We see diversity as a strength. Different perspectives and experiences create a dynamic working environment and help us better understand the many guests who visit our destinations.

Our employees work across more than 10 professional fields, including hotels, restaurants, skiing, transport and office roles. Our diverse workforce represents over 30 nationalities.

We meet many people through our activities and guided tours. This gives us a unique opportunity to show how we behave in nature, both through what we do and what we choose not to do. At the same time, we have a responsibility to care for each other and our surroundings.

Creating Local Opportunities Together

As an employer in our local communities, we want to give more people opportunities to learn, develop and find their place in working life. This includes offering work placements, apprenticeships, language training and duties adapted to individual needs.

We also work with educational institutions to provide work placements and contribute to teaching. By sharing our experience and knowledge of tourism, we aim to help people develop their skills and discover the opportunities available locally.

For us, supporting the local economy is also about people. By creating jobs, opportunities for development and career paths, we aim to help local communities thrive and remain attractive places to live, both today and in the years ahead.

Building a Sense of Belonging

Before each summer and winter season, we bring all new seasonal employees together for a shared kick-off event. Here, they get to know our destinations, our values and the role they play in creating memorable guest experiences.

The event gives us a shared start to the season and helps build connections across workplaces, roles and nationalities. We want everyone to get off to a good start and feel part of the team from day one.
