The fjord hotel is situated in the city centre of the calm Aurland municipality, close to cafes, gastro pub, grocery store, cosy old-school movie theatre, church, the famous Aurland shoe economusee, local traditional glassblowing and a lagoon great for picnics and for a chilly dip, summer and winter. If you prefer a heated pool instead you can use the newly upgraded local swimming hall and sauna. Aurland municipality also have one of few ecological agricultural schools in Norway, where you can purchase ecological goods in the farm-shop on the other side the road of the swimming hall. In Aurland you will also find marked trails and walkways along the fjord, through farmland and up the mountain passing the cascading waterfall 'Turlidfossen' or a short and steep hike to the 'day cabin' 40 min walking distance from the hotel. The rooms

The vintage modern Scandinavian style Hotel Aurlansdfjord offers a total of 30 rooms in various categories, all with beautiful views of the fjord and -or mountains. The fjord hotel has had a total renovation of the lobby/reception, restaurant/winter garden terrace, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor and outdoor area.

Down-to-earth rooms come with free Wi-Fi; some offer sitting areas with sofas. Breakfast and limited parking are complimentary (EL-car charging available). Other amenities include a terrace with views of the fjord and mountains, as well as a casual bar, a shuffleboard and a homey TV lounge.

Hotel Aurlandsfjord aims to provide pure tastes from foreign countries and Norway based on local produce. Our food philosophy will be further developed and will elevate the food and beverage experience for guests who want something out of the ordinary. The dissemination of history through food and drink will take place with emphasis on local produce throughout the seasons. The food should be genuine and honest, made from scratch and offer great flavours and new combinations.

Kayaking in the innermost Aurlandsfjord is a perfect way to enjoy the natural beauty and tranquillity.

Good to know

  • Mobile coverage in the mountains and valleys in the area is unstable and sometimes there is no signal at all.
  • If you encounter bad weather such as fog etc., return to the starting point following the hiking trail.
  • Open flames are not permitted due to the high risk of fire
  • Littering in nature is prohibited
  • Walking poles offer great support, especially when going downhill
  • Pack lightly and have fun!
