Kest - Tasting Room

Try our unique 8-course tasting menu in Kest. Our brilliant chefs have sourced the best ingredients from the fjord and mountains surrounding Aurland and present a seasonal and ever-changing menu. Since we know that the best experiences are the ones we share, all guests at Kest sit together around our special tasting table.

Sustainable bistro complimenting tasting menu

Working hand in hand with Kest, we present a more relaxed and casual main restaurant of the Hotel Aurlandsfjord with the same principles as the tasting menu. The team is focusing on using the same high quality local products and parts that are left from the tasting menu. Doing this, we ensure that nothing ends up as waste, reducing food waste and our impact on nature. The dishes here are a bit more rustic and approachable, but just as delicious as in Kest.

Guests booking half-board have the daily three-course menu included.

Activities nearby

Aurland is centrally located in Western Norway’s fjord region, and Flåm with all its attractions is just a 10-minute drive away. For those interested in hiking, we recommend the trail to Mt. Prest or the full-day hike through Aurlandsdalen valley from Østerbø.

Alternatively, the "Dagsturhytta” cabin in Aurland is a short but steep hike directly from the hotel. Be prepared for stunning views! From the cabin, it is possible to continue up to the viewpoint at Stegastein. If you prefer a view without getting out of breath, we recommend the sightseeing bus tour to Stegastein.

Other good activities that let you explore the fjord close up are Fjord Cruise Nærøyfjord and Fjord Safari. Accessible directly from the pier in Aurland. For those interested in fashion and/or history, a visit to Aurland Shoe Factory is recommended.
